Brexit

We plan to bring nothing across the border. mc.fly/Emerson have looked into it and talked to others. To bring things across would require, from least- to most-difficult:

  • a UK company (Emerson has some shell companies)
  • GBP400 basic fees + some risk
  • actually making the trip
  • complicated paperwork with which we don't have experience

2/3 of what we brought on the 12-ton truck in 2019 was kitchen equipment. To serve the much smaller camp, we would:

  • definitely: rent (less?) kitchen equipment using emf orga's supplier network.
  • possibly: build another pipe dome and store it in the UK. mc.fly estimates ~gbp700 + 1 or 2 days + awtnmy's farm

inflatable dome option: there's some on Amazon, but delivery date is too late. There are many tent rental shops, but prices are not posted or high.

Theme / goals

Do we cook just for us? Do we commit to cooking for a wider group?

Italians have been doing this for a while.

Commitments

For .eu camps the loading and unloading of the truck at the storage facility was unacceptable pain because it had 3 people and needs 6 people. This does not apply to EMF because probably vendors will deliver. The first things we need are:

  • budget
  • commitment from people with orga experience

After that there will be specific tasks.
