On Chaos Communication Camp we typically order beer in 50 L kegs for general consumption. The beer wishes are collected, ordered and delivered on commission, crowdsourced/donated on-sight, tapped and paid in cash. Former beer order lists, prices and processes can be viewed at their respective pages over at CCCamp2023-beer-list and CCCamp2019-beer-list.
Process
- Each individual creature adds their beer wish(es) and full keg sponsorships to the list
- An (ir-)responsible individual will check this list with the vendor, add "standard" beers and aggregate everything into an order. We also order the hardware/utilities for tapping.
- The kegs will be delivered on commission and stored in the vendor-supplied Milliways cooling truck on site
- The vendor will assist with setup, User:Mc.fly also knows how to handle the kegs.
- On Camp: We collect donations/sponsorship for beer kegs. When a keg is fully funded, the yelling crowd decides which keg will be opened next.
- When the vendor returns, we pay in cash from the donation box. Kegs that couldn't successfully be funded are taken back by the vendor (except for special beers where they do not take commission).
- Profit!
We may order additional beer on-camp, when we notice we're running out of fluids. In that case we pay the first batch when the vendor comes to deliver the new kegs and take back the empty ones.
Note: The beer vendor's prices are listed without "Umsatzsteuer" ("Turnover Tax") so add ~50% ontop.
Questions
- Non-beer options? These are handled via the Camp orga team.
- List of beverages? Our vendor is Gastro Cirkus, but there's no info available in that regard
- Until when can I submit requests? Ideally, we order 4 weeks ahead.
- Until when do I need to pay? Donations happen on-sight.
- Do we need utilities? The vendor can supply taps, cooling trailer, CO2 etc., we need to ask for that though!
Beer information
Beer kegs are fitted with different taps or "Zapfköpfe" in different sizes (1/2", 3/4" and seldomly 1/1"), and different breweries use different systems. We do have KeyKeg (used by crafting breweries) ourselves, everything else needs to be supplied by the vendor or bought by us.
