For total beginners -- no knowledge needed at all.
LED strips have become really inexpensive. And many people have created easy methods of controlling the color and brightness of individual LEDs in LED strips. This workshop will show you one easy and fun way to control LED strips, and to make them do what you want. I'll show you everything you need to know to use existing Arduino programs -- and how to hack Arduino programs -- to control the colors in your world with LED strips.

This workshop will show you one easy and fun way to control LED strips, and to make them do what you want. I'll show you everything you need to know to use existing Arduino programs -- and how to hack Arduino programs -- to control the colors in your world with LED strips.

- Intro to Red-Green-Blue (RGB) LEDs
- Brief intro to Arduino
- How to use an Arduino to control an LED strip
- Some demos of programs you can download

You do not need to register in advance to take this workshop -- just show up early to ensure a seat.:
Software
OPTIONAL: bring a laptop if you want it set up for programming LED strips.
If you bring a laptop, please download the free and open source Arduino software before the workshop -- Windows, Linux, or MacOS are all fine!:

Summary
What: Learn to program LED strips and make your life trippy
When: 23:00 to 24:30, Day 3 (Friday, December 29th)
Where: Hardware Hacking Area (see Map, below)
Who: Anyone and everyone can learn to program LED strips. Ages 10 to 100
Max #: 50 participants -- This workshop will fill up, so please do arrive early!
Cost: €20 for materials
