Send Mail to Hackers in Jail

How to Send Mail to Hackers in Jail

This text applies for Hackers in US jail which is the majority of them.

Mail is vital to incarcerated individuals. It reminds them that they are not alone, that people care, and it keeps them informed about what is going on in the "outside" world. Unfortunately, prisons and jails often have many arbitrary rules for writing incarcerated individuals, and not following those rules will cause your letter to be rejected.

When writing to any incarcerated person, please keep the following things in mind:

  • Please do not talk about anything illegal. Remember that all letters are screened, so please do not talk about anything you would not feel comfortable saying in front of police, a prosecutor, a judge or jury.
  • Include a return address in the body of your letter as well as on the envelope. Some jails and prisons will not accept letters if they do not contain a return address, and envelopes do not always make it to prisoners.
  • Please do not enclose extra stamps or envelopes with your letter. While the thought is appreciated, they are prohibited.
  • Please do not include money with your letters. If you would like to put money on an incarcerated individuals books, you can do so via Western Union.
  • Please be patient when waiting for a return letter. Stamps, paper, and pens all cost money. Sometimes, incarcerated people must go without these small "luxuries" in order to afford other things like personal hygiene products, not all of which are provided by the prison. Even if you do not get a reply, please know that your mail is appreciated.

Prisons and jails often also have strict rules on how a letter must be written. Deviating even slightly from these rules will cause your letter to be rejected and returned to you. In order to have to best chance of your letter reaching the person you are writing, please stick to the following guidelines:

  • Letters may only be written on white paper and mailed in white envelopes. No colored paper (not even off white) will be accepted. Lined notebook paper is acceptable.
  • Letters must be written in blue or black ink only. Crayons, colored pencils, or markers are not acceptable. Letters written or decorated in any ink other than blue or black will be rejected.
  • Letters with any kind of scent will be rejected. Please do not use any kind of scented pens or markers, and please do not spray any sort of perfume on the paper.
  • Please do not affix anything to your letter. Stickers, glitter, or anything affixed to your paper with glue will cause your letter to be rejected. Please do not use them.
  • Greeting cards are banned. Please do not send them.

How to Send Money to Hackers in Jail

This text applies for Hackers in US jail which is the majority of them.

Putting money onto someone's books is a good way to show your support directly to someone who is currently incarcerated. This money allows them not only to purchase things from commissary, such as stamps, paper, pens, hygiene supplies, and extra clothes and food, but also allows them to use the phone and internet services, allowing them to more easily keep in touch with friends and loved ones. Contact with friends and family is vital to incarcerated individuals, and better contact with support systems while incarcerated has been postively linked with stronger relationships with family members, and better outcomes upon release.

This tutorial will walk you through one of the easiest and most convenient ways to add money to an incarcerated person's account using Western Union.

How To Put Money On A Prisoner's Commissary Account Using Western Union

Please Note: This applies only to prisoners in the federal system. All prisoners listed on this page can have money added to their account using this method.

1. Visit www.westernunion.com

2. Click on the Menu, and find the option that says "Pay Inmate"

3. For inmates in the federal system, fill in the following information:

   * Correctional Facility: Federal Bureau of Prison
   * Send Amount
   * Inmate First Name
   * Inmate Last Name
   * Inmate Number: This will be the number listed after their name in their address. It will be formatted as #XXXXX-XXX. When inputting it on the website, you do not need to worry about formatting.

4. If you have formatted everything correctly, your screen should display that you are sending money to XXXXXXXXLASTNAME, where the X's represent the inmate number, and "LASTNAME" represents the inmate's last name.

5. You may then choose to pay by either debit or credit card. Once you have filled in your financial information, it is as simple as pressing send! Funds will automatically be added to the account of the person you have designated.
