Abstract

Anyone can learn to solder!
It is useful and fun.
This workshop is for kids of all ages (and anyone of any age).

We will learn this wonderful skill by making a blinky-badge kit,
so you can wear blinky-lights wherever you go.

Learn to solder by making a cool badge that you can wear, and have blinky-lights wherever you go.

The "I Can Solder!" Badge kit is a very simple open hardware kit that anyone can use for learning to solder.


This workshop is for total newbies to learn to solder. All ages.

Workshop Itinerary

  • Brief overview of electronics
  • The background of soldering, so you will solder well for the rest of your life
  • Step by step instructions for soldering your "I Can Solder!" Badge kit
  • Wear Blinky-Lights wherever you go

Materials cost

The workshop is free, but if you would like to partake in the hands-on aspects of the workshop, Mitch will have materials for €10.

Registration -- NOT required

You do not need to register in advance to take this workshop -- just show up early to ensure a seat.:

Summary

     What: Make an "I Can Solder" Badge kit
     When: 6:30pm to 7:30pm Day 3 (Sunday, December 30th)
     Where: Hardware Hacking Area (see Map, below)
     Who: Anyone and everyone can learn to solder -- all ages
     Max #: 50 participants -- This workshop will fill up, so please do arrive early!
     Cost: €10 for materials
