Every once in a while, we attend WHY_2025 Orga meetings, either in person or through Jitsi, to gain insight into what the event orga is working on and to ask questions if needed.
nb. these are notes made and shared between people from Milliways from a Milliways perspective. These are not necessarily Meeting Minutes.

May 22nd Jitsi

Official minutes here.

  • The Drum'nBass festival Liquicity has moved to be so close to WHY that there is actually a very brief overlap with their teardown and our buildup on 29th/30th July.
    • This opens interesting collaboration opportunities for re-using tents/equipment etc.
    • There is a contact known for liquicity orga
      • we have to go through netsmurf (jeroen).
        • Also see here for the WHY-Orga x Liquicity-Orga minutes.
    • This means 9days buildup before WHY.
  • WHY currently has no festival permit cause of government limitations on application timeframe.
  • Most teams are only really just starting up with the notable exceptions of Safety, Badge and core orga.
  • There won't be many opportunities to see and visit the field in person so use the one or two that ARE available when they come up.
    • Next physical meet (not on field) is on 7th dep in hackalot in a church somewhere.
  • Finance would like to have budget overviews from teams for projects they forecast they want to run
    • excel sheet like on mch
    • add 10% unforeseen
    • excelsheet will be made available in coming days, teams have about a month for submissions
    • deadline is next jitsi meeting on June 19th
  • Village Team is now clear
